REGISTRATION NOW CLOSED. WALK-INS WELCOME.

At Welcome Day you will be able to:

  • Chat with faculty, students, and staff about everything from majors to student clubs

  • Attend student panels, and workshops on financial aid, student success, and enrolling

  • Take a tour of campus, our residence halls, and the recreation center

Please note that Welcome Day is not a substitution for the mandatory freshman and transfer Orientation or GE Advising Sessions for freshmen. Information about both of these programs will be available during Welcome Day.


Here are some details to help you plan for your visit to campus on Welcome Day:

When: Saturday, April 21st. Welcome bags will be distributed to students starting at 8:15 a.m. The entire program runs from 9 a.m. - 2p.m.

Where: Cal State East Bay Hayward Campus Pioneer Amphitheater, 25800 Carlos Bee Blvd, Hayward, CA.

The Welcome Day 2018 program is designed so that you may participate in activities that are most important to you and your family. Please use the program and map as a resource to prioritize your day ahead of time.

Free Parking: Available in all lots. However, the closest parking lots to the event are Lots K and H. Please note however that due to the size of this event, Lots K and H will be the first to fill up, so it is important that you allow yourself ample time to find alternative parking. The following lots are also convenient to park in: G, F, E. See Campus map for locations.

Transportation: Cal State East Bay is easily accessible by major freeways and public transportation systems including the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) system and AC Transit.

Free Shuttle to/from Hayward BART: On Saturdays, a Cal State East Bay shuttle runs continuously from the Downtown Hayward BART station to the Recreation & Wellness Center (RAW) on campus. The shuttle departs every 30 minutes. The shuttle will begin running from Hayward BART at 8 a.m.

Food on Campus: Light pastries and coffee will be provided for all attendees. Also, you can enjoy lunch on your own. You will have the option to purchase food at select on-campus eateries as well as Food Trucks that are being featured especially for this event.

Accept you Offer of Admission at Welcome Day: Visit the Student Services and Administration Building (SA) Courtyard between 9:35 a.m. - 2 p.m. to accept your offer of admission, pick up some cool freebies, and have your family picture taken at this commemorative event!

Accessibility Information:

Cal State University East Bay is committed to providing equal and integrated access for individuals and families with disabilities. The university has created a detailed map which highlights the accessibility features for major buildings and areas including automatic doors, ramps, and elevators. Accessibility parking is also available in all lots. Lot K and H are the closest option for parking for the Welcome Day opening ceremony. Parking is free for the event. Please be advised that the university does not provide personal attendants or wheelchairs. It is the sole responsibility of campus guests to arrange these logistics. Please note that the Welcome Day 2017 programming spans across the entirety of our beautiful campus.
